The Bone Collector (2026)

This series of 36 photographic self-portraits tells my story of recovery from

complete dissociative amnesia caused by 37 years of complex trauma, to memory, healing and health.

The bones symbolise I collected the bones of a sheep - symbolic of memory, and the exposed 'bare bones' of what happened to me - and took self-portraits in a creative reimagining of remembering, recovery and healing.

The Bone Collector is also a handmade artist's photobook, layering 32 photographs with poetic text. The design of the book, including the choice of print technique and presentation, further conceptualises the embodied nature of trauma.
