In retrospect, I understand 22:22 as seeking to create images of experiences that I didn't yet have language for, and was just beginning to understand, at a time of a new diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder (DID), formerly known as multiple personality disorder. I was intuitively creating visual language for fragmentation of personality, and the switches, disconnections, distortions and shifts in identity, awareness, memory and experience, which characterise DID.
